Three houses, three storefronts.

Today with the rising cost of housing, many office and commercial buildings are getting converted to residential. But in the past, the opposite happened as homes on busy thoroughfares were converted to commercial, or mixed residential/commercial. There were at least two waves, one in the 1920s and another in the 1950s/60s.

This set of three homes and storefronts is on the 3300 block of Pulaski, near the intersection with Milwaukee. These three storefronts were added in the mid 1920s to homes that were likely built around the 1900s. Two storefronts are vacant, and one operates as a salon (Johnny & Rosa's).

These prints are hand-pressed oil ink on kitakata paper, so there will be minor variation between prints. Signed/numbered edition of 10
